Summary
Art Devine, whose smash hit, 9-Ball, played to packed houses at Cape Rep in 2001, is back with his world premiere new play. Nathan Suslack is a farmer whose present day, gritty reality shares time with a journey to the past, and to the love of his life. But what appears to be a nostalgic trip has monumental effect on the present and provides a sweeping glance at our 20th century lives.

Reviews
Cape Rep’s Winter Wheat a strong, special show
“Art Devine’s world premier play at Cape Rep in Brewster, Winter Wheat, is much like the crop whose name it shares. Characters are sprinkled on the stage and the story of their parched, dysfunctional lives develops slowly, seemingly with little hope for catharsis. By some stroke of magic or downpour a bountiful harvest is reached, touching, poignant, and stirring. It isn’t often that a play strikes such a chord that its audience is moved to tears. This is such a play.” – Barnstable Patriot
