Summary

Inspired by the brilliance of legendary one woman shows from the likes of Bette Midler and Chita Rivera, Trish LaRose weaves story and song into a show filled with heart, sass and laughs! Backed by a stellar six-piece band, Trish invites you on a candid, eclectic journey about life as a New Yorker, becoming a mother, and discovering her inherent connection to Puerto Rico goes deeper than she could have imagined. Trish leaves no stone unturned with a diverse song list spanning Sondheim to Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston and Rosemary Clooney.

Trish LaRose is an Associate Artist at Cape Rep where she’s appeared in numerous productions over the past 22 years. Favorites include: Donna Sheridan in Mamma Mia, Halina Cygansky in Indecent, Bea Bottom in Something Rotten, Fanny Brice in Funny Girl, Mae West in Dirty Blonde, O.G. Howland in Men On Boats, and Serafina Delle Rosa in The Rose Tattoo. Other credits: Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd (opposite Tom Hewitt, Dir. David Drake) at Provincetown Theater, The Odd Couple, Dark Night Cabaret Series, Cry it Out & The Muskies ll at CCftA, Grandma in The Addams Family at CCTC/HJT, the nat’l tour of Urban Cowboy, and Legally Blonde (Dir. Nick Kenkel) at North Shore Music Theatre. She’s also appeared as a guest with the NYC cabaret group The Skivvies and has sung with the Cape Symphony. (Various Artists) and coming in the fall of 2024, Bandstand: The Birth of Rock ‘n Roll (Various Artists). Recent Music Director credits include Tommy (CCftA), Something Rotten (Falmouth), and this spring, Rent at Sandwich HS.

Keyboard

Misao Koyama (Keyboard) is a local collaborative pianist. She has worked on many theatrical productions and concerts, including appearances with the Cape Symphony, the Cotuit Center for the Arts, Cape Cod Chorale, Cape Cod Community College, and several local schools. Born in Sapporo, Japan, a Berklee College of Music graduate, she serves as the organist and music director at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Sandwich.

Andy Troyanos (Guitar) has been a musician and educator for the past 34 years on Cape Cod, presently teaching music at Mashpee High School.  Performances include working with Stage Door Canteen big band, The Chris Santos quartet and his own group Naked Jazz. You may have also seen him playing in shows all over, including Piano Men I and II, Muskrat Love I and II, Bridges of Madison County, Next to Normal and many more. Andy lives in Sandwich with his wife, Debra and has 3 children and 5 grandchildren.

Rich Hill (Bass) discovered an enthusiasm for music at an early age. He became a working musician at age 13 and was required to become a union member at at 16 when he joined an internationally touring original show band. An early love of piano and the works of bach, along with Paul McCartney and The Beatles, led to a lifelong passion for playing bass. As a freelance bassist, Rich has worked extensively in musical theatre and played and recorded with numerous artists including Suede, Entrain, The Platters, The Santos Quartet, Daniel Byrnes Band, George Gritzbach, Joan Rivers, Emily Wade Adams, Lisa Jason & Zoe Lewis.

Woodwinds

Peter Murray (Woodwinds) Peter studied at Berklee College of Music in the mid 70’s and has played in the New England area extensively over the past forty years with live performances and recording session work. Peter has played with Donald Byrd, Mili Bermejo, Bob Moses, The Rings, Oscar Stagnaro, Jim Gwinn and Brad Hatfield. On the Cape, he appears with Cla da Bossa Nova, the George Gritzbach blues band and his new project “Wave”.

Steve, a native of Massachusetts, has lived in South Florida since 1977. He has traveled extensively performing with such greats as Aretha Franklin (1983 Caribbean Tour) Manhattan Transfer, Liberace, Rosemary Clooney, Carmen McRae, Tito Puente, the Four Tops, The Temptations, Frank Sinatra Jr., Michael Feinstein (Florida Tour) as well as being the opening Trumpet Soloist for Tony Bennett throughout various Florida venues. He was the trumpet soloist for the Boca Raton Pops for 20 years, The Palm Beach Pops for 10 years and has performed for four presidents.

He has recorded on 31 albums. “At Last”, Steve’s solo CD, received national acclaim on which he performs on flugelhorn and flute as well as trumpet. Classically trained, Steve’s range of musical styles include Jazz, Dixieland, Big Band, Rock, and R&B.

Steve summers in the Northeast where he is a member of the Cape Cod Jazz Quintet performing at various festivals including the Provincetown Jazz Festival.

Maura Hanlon (Director) is the Associate Artistic Director at Cape Rep Theatre. This is her second new play of the 2023 season. It has been a joy working with Trish on her show, a project many years imagined, finally wonderfully achieved. As a director, Mo is most passionate about the development of new work, and she is eternally grateful to Cape Rep and Janine Perry for the opportunity to be part of such important creative projects. Mo’s most recent directorial credits include this season’s world premiere musical Archibald Avery written by her three sons Paddo, Seamus and Macklin Devine, the return engagement of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane and Winter’s Tale with the 2023 Young Company. Favorite directing credits include Archibald Avery, Edward Tulane, Indecent, Men on Boats, Failure: A Love Story, Jerusalem, Eurydice, Wintertime, The Rose Tattoo (Cape Rep) and Peter Pan and Wendy (HJT). A sometime-actor, she was most recently seen on stage at Cape Rep last summer reprising her role as Rosie in Mamma Mia! She is a frequent sound designer (Prelude to a Kiss, Ken Ludwig’s Dear Jack, Dear Louise, My Name is Asher Lev, to name just a few), and an occasional playwright (Good Bye Mary Rose, Dinosaur Pirates from Outerspace!, which she also composed, and Alice in Wonderland, along with many adaptations for YoCo with Janine Perry). Mo is a Holy Cross grad, studied acting and directing at Trinity Rep Conservatory and received her MFA in directing from UCSD. Bryan is a New York & London based director and choreographer. Bryan’s extensive career has spanned from starring on Broadway in the most recent Revival of “A CHORUS LINE” to appearing in multiple National Tours, Film and TV. He is an award winning choreographer with credits that include: CABARET & CHICAGO (NH Theatre Award “Best Choreographer,” ONSTAGE Theatre Award Nomination “Best Choreography”), MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD (Kennedy Center American College Theatre Award “Outstanding Choreography”) BEEHIVE! (Berkshire Theatre Award nomination “Best Choreographer”) SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER/MAMMA MIA (SALT Award nomination “Best Choreographer”), CURTAINS (BroadwayWorld Award Nomination “Best Choreography”) among many others. At present, he is attached as Director/Choreographer to “In My Own Little Corner” starring Chryssie Whitehead in NYC and serving as choreographer for the new musical, “The Only Way Out” written by David Thatcher Maglione in London, UK. He is currently an adjunct professor at Montclair State University as well as on faculty at Broadway Dance Center, STEPS on Broadway in New York City as well as THE HUB and House of Jazz in London. Ryan McGettigan (Scenic Design) Ryan is a Houston-based scenic designer of theater, opera, and dance working across the country and Europe. He is the Resident Designer at Cape Rep Theatre in Brewster, MA as well as a Company Artist with Prague Shakespeare Company and the Classical Theatre Company of Houston. Regional Credits: Theatre under the Stars, Stages Repertory Theatre, Orlando Shakespeare Theater, Shakespeare & Company, Cape Rep, Abilene Shakespeare Festival, Legacy Theatre, Prague Shakespeare Company. Opera and Dance: Glimmerglass Festival, New Orleans Opera, Opera San Jose, HGOco, Open Dance Project, and the Houston Ballet.

Daisy Long (Lighting Design) is a lighting designer for theater, opera, music and dance. She is thrilled to be with Cape Rep this year where she lit this seasons A Man of No Importance! Credits include Hartford Stage, Westport Country Playhouse Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Keen Company, Abingdon, Alliance Theatre, Everyman Theatre, Wexford Festival Opera, BAM, The Shed, Speakeasy Stage Company (IRNE Award for The Scottsboro Boys), and TADA! Youth Theater (National Youth Arts Award for The Perfect Monster). Tori Mondello (Stage Manager) is thrilled to continue her work with Cape Rep Theatre and this extraordinary company of creators. Her recent Stage Manager experiences include Cape Rep’s A Man of No Importance, Archibald Avery, Bold Company and Young Company, Prelude to a Kiss, and From the Heart of the Wreck. Tori is a recent graduate of NYU Abu Dhabi’s theater program where she primarily studied lighting design and is excited to be back in her home state working as a stage manager.
