Diagnosed with terminal “Acquired Toilet Disease,” a first grade teacher from Baltimore embarks on a madcap trip through France, Germany, Holland and Austria with her beloved brother. She aims to taste all of life’s sensual pleasures; he wants her to undergo a whacky alternative medical cure in Austria. Writing this Obie Award winning play, Paula Vogel employs all her brilliant creative tools—comedy, drama, music, her love of movies, art and literature—to come to terms with a profound personal tragedy.
