Proof is an intimate “fly on the wall” look at a brilliant mathematician, his protege, and his daughter, all committed and passionate about their pursuit to understand the world through a mathematical lens. A beautifully crafted drama that allows room for humor and for hope in lives that must sacrifice individual ambition for family, Proof swept all the awards in 2001, including the Tony and Pulitzer for Best Play.

Cartier is proud to make his Cape Rep debut.  In Boston, he has worked at Shear Madness, the Lyric Stage, Wheelock Family Theatre and Boston Shakespeare Company.  In Rhode Island, he has appeared at Ocean State Theatre and the Gamm.  And in Maine, he has worked at Penobscot Theatre, the Public Theatre and has been a company member of the Theater at Monmouth for over 20 seasons.  This summer at Monmouth, he will play Polonius in Hamlet, Shallow in Merry Wives of Windsor and a dozen roles in Ken Ludwig’s Baskerville.

As someone who takes his weekly Dungeons & Dragons game just as seriously as he takes his physical health, Wes is so excited to step into the shoes of fellow jock/geek, Hal.  Since working on the show in a university acting lab, Proof has ranked high on Wes’s bucket list of plays.  Originally from South Carolina, Wes has been an NYC-based actor since graduation last year.  Recent works include: Spring Awakening, 35mm: A Musical Exhibition, Violet, and Really, Really. Thanks to friends, family, and Cape Rep for this truly awesome opportunity. Andreadis Talent Agency. Proud CCU Alum.

Holly Erin McCarthy is a local performer, director and writer who is thrilled to return to Cape Rep for her 13th consecutive season, having first appeared almost twenty years ago in By the Bog of Cats (which was also directed by Mo Hanlon!) Favorite Cape Rep credits include Avenue Q, Failure: A Love Story, Wintertime and many outdoor children’s shows. Holly is also the founding director of Theater Under the Stairs, for whom she has written many original children’s shows, including Lulu’s Lemonade Stand, which was produced here in 2017 and inspired a picture book, co-published by Cape Rep.  This August, Holly will premiere a new Lulu spin-off as well as her Dark Night Cabaret series in Cotuit.
