Summary

This production is re-envisioned for our community at this crossroads of our time: our pathos, our innocence, our joy and our humanity.

Brian Lore Evans (Joe Crowell, Jr./Mr. Webb/Joe Stoddard) is a graduate of The American Repertory Theater’s Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard University, and is thrilled to return for his second show at Cape Repertory Theater! His previous credits include Archibald Avery (Cape Rep); The Visitation (Witness Immersive); James and the Giant Peach (American Repertory Theater); Arrabal (American Repertory Theater); Christmas at the Ivanovs (Moscow Art Theater); Pygmalion (Williamstown Theatre Festival).

Jared Hagan (Wally/Professor Willard/Simon Stimson) is an Associate Artist at Cape Rep Theatre where he has appeared in over 30 productions. Some of his favorites include Something Rotten!, Merrily We Roll Along, A New Brain, Hairspray, La Cage Aux Folles, Failure: A Love Story, Avenue Q, and The Drowsy Chaperone as well as a decade of Outdoor Theater children’s shows. Nick Nudler (Stage Manager) was born and raised in Westford, MA. Some of his favorite shows he’s been a part of have been: From the Heart of the Wreck, Indecent, Noises Off!, Shakespeare in Love, and Rough Crossing at Cape Rep Theatre; The Taming of the Shrew and Macbeth at Shakespeare & Company; Jesus Christ Superstar, As You Like It, and The Importance of Being Earnest at CT Repertory Theatre; and the devised piece, Ziggy Bacchus and the Maenads from Mars. He performed his one-man show The Old Names at Manhattan Repertory Theatre’s New Works Festival. He received a BFA in Acting from UConn, where he studied at the Theatre Academy of London for a semester. His hair comes courtesy of his brilliant mother Julie and Apollo, God of the Sun. Look out for his and Kirsten Peacock’s Edinburgh Fringe Show, Jason & Medea, being performed at Cape Rep at the end of May!

Denise Page (Mrs. Gibbs) is super excited to be setting foot on the Cape Rep stage for the first time!  Most recently she played Miss Hannigan in Annie at the Academy of Performing Arts (APA).  Other favorite shows include: Oklahoma! (Ado Annie), Company (Joanne) at APA; Tick, Tick…Boom! (Susan), The King and I (Anna Loenowens) at Counter Productions Provincetown; Oliver! (Nancy) at the Provincetown Theater. By day, she works at the family owned hardware store in Provincetown. In her free time she teaches children’s acting courses, sings at various venues on the Cape and spends time with her husband, children and pets. She is super thankful for her family’s support of her theatrical indulgences and appreciative that they find ways to feed and entertain themselves when she’s off traipsing about the stages!  She is grateful for this opportunity at Cape Rep and the warm welcome from everyone, especially Mo, Janine, Tori and this wonderful cast!!

Katherine Paulsen (Emily) is a Brooklyn-based actress. Favorite recent credits include Emmy in A Doll’s House, Part 2 and Lisa in Donald Margulies’ Collected Stories. Biggest thanks to the magnificent cast and crew for welcoming me into the Cape Rep family, to my parents for everything, and to Brian, my real life George Gibbs.

Cam Torres (George) is a playwright, actor, and director based in Fall River, Massachusetts. Previous Cape Rep credits include: Jerusalem and The Full Monty. Kirsten Peacock (Emily 5/8-5/12) This is Kirsten’s fourth season at Cape Rep having performed in Noises Off (Brooke), From the Heart of the Wreck (Hallet) which also she co-created, Mamma Mia (Ensemble/Father Alexandrios), and A Man of No Importance (Mrs. Grace/Mrs. Patrick). She is so grateful to be a part of this beautiful show! She has performed, taught, directed and choreographed in the UK, Norway, California, New York and the greater New England area. She has been a company member of Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA for the past seven years, working as an education artist and performing in roles such as Lady Macbeth, Kate, Titania, Ophelia and Desdemona. Come see Kirsten & Nick Nudler’s newest show, Jason & Medea, here at Cape Rep at the end of May before it goes to the Edinburgh Fringe!

Maura Hanlon (Director) is the Associate Artistic Director at Cape Rep Theatre. Mo’s most recent directorial credits include last season’s world premiere musicals, Archibald Avery written by her three sons Paddo, Seamus and Macklin Devine, Trish LaRose: Come On-A My House, which she is delighted to return to this season, and the return engagement of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. For 2024, Mo directed the Young Company, now in its 8th year, in two shows this winter, Dead End and Waiting for Lefty. Favorite directing credits include Archibald Avery, Edward Tulane, Indecent, Men on Boats, Failure: A Love Story, Jerusalem, Eurydice, Wintertime, The Rose Tattoo (Cape Rep) and Peter Pan and Wendy (HJT). A sometime-actor, she was most recently seen on stage at Cape Rep as Rosie in Mamma Mia! She is a frequent sound designer (Prelude to a Kiss, Ken Ludwig’s Dear Jack, Dear Louise, My Name is Asher Lev, to name just a few), and an occasional playwright (Good Bye Mary Rose, Dinosaur Pirates from Outerspace!, which she also composed, and Alice in Wonderland, along with many adaptations for YoCo with Janine Perry). Mo is a Holy Cross grad, studied acting and directing at Trinity Rep Conservatory and received her MFA in directing from UCSD. Extra-special thanks to her incredibly supportive family, Paddo, Seamus, Macklin and Art.

Ryan McGettigan (Scenic Design) Ryan is a Houston-based scenic designer of theater, opera, and dance working across the country and Europe. He is the Resident Designer at Cape Rep Theatre in Brewster, MA as well as a Company Artist with Prague Shakespeare Company and the Classical Theatre Company of Houston. Regional Credits: Theatre under the Stars, Stages Repertory Theatre, Orlando Shakespeare Theater, Shakespeare & Company, Cape Rep, Abilene Shakespeare Festival, Legacy Theatre, Prague Shakespeare Company. when Robin was 5 someone asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up, “A designer,” she said, and she has been sewing and creating ever since. Moving to Southern California at 21, Robin started her career as a costumer in film when there were 3 networks and it was TV vs film. After 2 years in Australia and following the birth of her daughter Leanne, they relocated to Cape Cod, where Robin has worked as an acclaimed costume designer for theaters across the Cape and Islands for the last 25 years.

Tori Mondello (Stage Manager) is thrilled to continue her work with Cape Rep Theatre and this extraordinary company of creators. Her recent Stage Manager experiences include Cape Rep’s A Man of No Importance, Archibald Avery, Bold Company and Young Company, Prelude to a Kiss, and From the Heart of the Wreck. Tori is a recent graduate of NYU Abu Dhabi’s theater program where she primarily studied lighting design and is excited to be back in her home state working as a stage manager.
