Summary

The great Bob Dylan’s remarkable music in Tony Award-winning arrangements by Simon Hale and acclaimed playwright Conor McPherson’s compelling story set in Duluth, Minnesota, 1934.  Reminiscent of great American classics like Our Town, this fabulous partnership holds up a mirror to who we are and who we have been: “Profoundly beautiful. Indya Cherise (Marianne Laine) is an NYC based actor, singer, and songwriter, who is absolutely thrilled to be joining this cast! A Cali-Arizona native, she has been performing nearly her whole life. She studied musical theatre at NYU and The New York Conservatory, and graduated in May 2024. Indya made her Off-Broadway debut this past March in Chasing Grace, at the A.R.T./New York Mezzanine Theatre. Other selected credits include: A Soulful Christmas Revue (NYC), Dreamgirls (WPPAC), Waitress, Heartbreak Hotel (TBTS), Hairspray (Fireside Theatre). Elijah Corbin (Gene Laine) has previously been seen as Simon Gascoyne in The Real Inspector Hound (Cape Rep), Larry Doucette in 9-Ball (Cape Rep), and Wickersham Brother in Suessical (North Shore Music Theatre). His training includes a degree in Acting from Point Park University and a summer in Toga, Japan, learning Suzuki with the SCOT company. He would like to make a special thanks to Michael Belliveau for his constant guidance and support throughout his life!

Christina Monahan (Mrs. Neilsen) has played many roles on stage and screen, and is so happy to return to Cape Rep to tell another story. She has a deep passion for animals, wildlife, and nature, and volunteers with various organizations that support them.

Anthony Teixeira (Mr. Burke) is a local performer, director and arts educator who is grateful to be here at Cape Rep! Denise Page (Mrs. Burke) is a Cape native whose last Cape Rep appearance was as Mrs. Gibbs in Our Town. Other recent productions: Hello, Dolly! (Academy of Performing Arts); Almost, Maine! (Eventide Theatre); A Christmas Carol (Provincetown Theater); Dark Tales (Helltown Players). Denise was recently appointed Artistic Director of Eventide Theatre Company in Dennis where she will be directing Songs for a New World this Fall. She’s a wife, mom, acting teacher, church singer, “big fan” of the bike trail, playwriting consultant, and loves her little zoo of pets: cat, dogs and chickens. IG: @d.nice.page

Zachary Johnson (Elias Burke) is thrilled to be returning to Cape Rep! He was recently seen as Detective Allison, Officer Mead and Karl in Art Devine’s 9-Ball. Originally from Hudson, MA, Zack has been in over 30 productions on the Cape since moving here in 2022. Some recent favorites include Shrek in Shrek the Musical (CCftA), multiple characters in Amy Brenneman’s Overcome (CCftA), Brad Majors in The Provincetown Theatre’s production of The Rocky Horror Show, Charles Condomine in Blithe Spirit (ETC), Mr. Wormwood in Matilda (CCftA), Bobby in Sondheim’s Company (ETC), Dennis in Rock of Ages (BCC) and Man 2 in The World Goes Round (CCftA). Zack holds a Bachelor of Music from New England Conservatory as well as a Master of Music and Master of Musical Arts in Opera from Yale University.

Joe Scott

Julius P. Williams III (Joe Scott) is an Assistant Professor at Berklee College of Music and an accomplished performer whose career spans musical theatre, opera, and international concert stages across the United States and Europe. A dynamic and versatile artist, he has appeared in major productions including Hairspray in Cologne, Germany (as Duane and cover Seaweed at the Musical Dome), and performed with esteemed companies such as the Hamburg State Opera in The Rape of Lucretia.
His international credits include performances in the UK, Austria, Germany, and Italy, with notable appearances in Porgy and Bess at Grange Park Opera in London and Show Boat in Vienna. In the U.S., he has collaborated with innovative companies like Moonbox Productions, where he was featured in the new works festival production of The Juke and as Andre in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
A passionate creator as well as performer, Williams conceived and starred in the two-person Golden Age revue Funny Faces, Fancy Feet, celebrating the legacy of classic American musical theatre. He is also a founding member and arranger for the classical crossover group Vox Fortura, with whom he performed internationally.
In addition to his performing career, Williams is an active director and choreographer, leading productions and showcases at Berklee’s Performance Center. His multidisciplinary expertise, global experience, and commitment to storytelling continue to inspire the next generation of artists.
Reverend Marlowe

Ian Hamilton (Reverend Marlowe) is a Cape-based actor and educator who has been performing on local stages for two decades. Recent roles include Inspector Hound in The Real Inspector Hound (Cape Rep), Louis the Baker in Sunday in the Park with George (Cape Rep), and Abraham van Helsing in Dracula (CCTC/HJT). Ian serves as the Associate Director of Cape Rep’s Young Company, and spends his days teaching and mentoring children and young adults at schools and summer camps. He would like to thank his brilliant family (Jack, Nell, Julie, and Olive), the amazing Mo Hanlon for all of her time, skill, and knowledge, and his students for their daily reminders to be patient, silly, and kind.

Mr. Perry

Cleo Zani (Mr. Perry) a native of Massachusetts, and a Cape Codder since 1981, majored in performing arts at Goddard College in Vermont, and apprenticed with Kenyon Martin’s National Mime Theater way back in the day. Over the years he has appeared as Lou in Breaking Legs for Ocean State Theater Company, as Ben in The Dumb Waiter for Cotuit Center for the Arts, as Austin Sloper in The Heiress for Eventide Arts, and, to mention some of his favorite roles, as W.O. Gant in Look Homeward, Angel, as Andre in Red Herring, as Frank in Wintertime, as Patsy in Spamalot, as Charlie ‘the Duck’ Clench in One Man, Two Guvnors, as Ivor in Rough Crossing, as The Wizard in The Wizard of Oz, and as Lord of the Underworld in Eurydice for Cape Repertory Theatre. He’s very pleased to be trodding the Cape Rep boards again.

Dr. Walker

Jack Kerig (Dr. Walker) is returning to the stage in what is a surprise to himself and probably many others. A Cape actor, Jack has performed for more than 50 years on local stages. His Cape Rep credits include Bottom of the Sky, Our Country’s Good, and Much Ado About Nothing. He is most grateful for the love and support of of his immediate family Julie, Ian, and Nell, and his wonderful extended family of Cape Rep artists, with his deepest thanks to Janine Perry for preserving a place to nurture the art.

Katherine Draper

Madison Mayer (Kate Draper) is thrilled to return to Cape Rep! Born and raised on Cape Cod, Madison has been performing from Provincetown to Cotuit for the past 19 years. She was most recently seen as Janet Weiss in The Rocky Horror Show at The Provincetown Theater. Other favorite credits include Inga in Young Frankenstein (CCTC), Cinderella in Into the Woods (Eventide), Missy Miller in The Marvelous Wonderettes (CCTC), Lisa/Sophie U/S in Mamma Mia! (Cape Rep), Johanna in Sweeney Todd (Provincetown Theater), Virginia in Nevermore (WHAT), and Dainty June in Gypsy (Cotuit Center for the Arts). Madison is always grateful to share the stage with her partner, Zack Johnson. Offstage, she is the proud owner of Cape Cod Charcuterie, located at 96 Route 6A in Orleans (@capecodcharcuterie).
