Join us for this thrilling two person reinterpretation of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream by renowned theater artists Kirsten Peacock and Nick Nudler (From the Heart of the Wreck, Jason & Medea). A lover’s quarrel ignites a vivid fantasy transporting us to a world of dreams, of star-crossed lovers and romantic foibles in a one-of-a-kind production filled with breathtaking aerial feats, bold physicality and humor.

Nick Nudler was born and raised in Westford, MA. Some of his favorite shows he’s been a part of have been: Our Town, Indecent, Noises Off!, Shakespeare in Love and Rough Crossing at Cape Rep Theatre; The Taming of the Shrew and Macbeth at Shakespeare & Company; Jesus Christ Superstar, As You Like It, and The Importance of Being Earnest at CT Repertory Theatre. He received a BFA in Acting from UConn, where he studied at the Theatre Academy of London for a semester.

Together, Nick and Kirsten comprise Cosmic Mirth, a collaborative theater duo that creates highly physical, playful adaptations of classical texts and folk stories. They have been lucky enough to produce their first major work, From the Heart of the Wreck at Cape Rep Theatre in 2022 and brought their show Jason & Medea, workshopped here in 2023 and 2024, to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival last summer. This is Kirsten’s fifth season at Cape Rep. Theatre credits include: Our Town (us/Emily), From the Heart of the Wreck (Hallet), Noises Off! (Brooke) and Mamma Mia! at Cape Rep Theatre; Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson (Holmes) and Indecent (Halina) at Playhouse on Park. She grew up in Norway, studied at The University of Kent (UK) and the UC Berkeley. Her other artistic home is Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA. For the past eight years she has trained, taught and performed on the North East Regional Tour as some the Bard’s most badass women: Kate, Lady Macbeth, Titania, Ophelia and Desdemona.

Maura Hanlon (Director) is the Associate Artistic Director at Cape Rep Theatre, where she has directed many, many plays, sound designed many more, acted in a some and even written a few. Mo is delighted to be collaborating with Nick and Kirsten on this wonderful, physical show, after providing creative support to them on last year’s Jason and Medea, and 2022’s From the Heart of the Wreck. Mo’s most recent directorial credits include last season’s Our Town and Trish LaRose: Come On-A My House. Favorite directing credits include the world premiere musical, Archibald Avery written by her three sons Paddo, Seamus and Macklin Devine, Come On-A My House, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane,  Indecent, Men on Boats, Failure: A Love Story, Jerusalem, Eurydice, Wintertime, The Rose Tattoo (Cape Rep) and Peter Pan and Wendy (HJT). Mo is the founder and director of Cape Rep’s Young Company (YoCo) which performed their 9th production, This Restless House: Agamemnon’s Return, in February. A Holy Cross grad, Mo studied acting and directing at Trinity Rep Conservatory and received her MFA in directing from UCSD. Ryan McGettigan (Scenic Design) Ryan is a Houston-based scenic designer of theater, opera, and dance working across the country and Europe. He is the Resident Designer at Cape Rep Theatre, where he has designed over 25 sets, as well as a Company Artist with Prague Shakespeare Company and the Classical Theatre Company of Houston. Regional Credits: Theatre under the Stars, Stages Repertory Theatre, Orlando Shakespeare Theater, Shakespeare & Company, Cape Rep, Abilene Shakespeare Festival, Legacy Theatre, Prague Shakespeare Company. Opera and Dance: Glimmerglass Festival, New Orleans Opera, Opera San Jose, HGOco, Open Dance Project, and the Houston Ballet.

Robin McLaughlin (Costume Design) When Robin was 5 someone asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up, “A designer,” she said, and she has been sewing and creating ever since. Moving to Southern California at 21, Robin started her career as a costumer in film when there were 3 networks and it was TV vs film. After 2 years in Australia and following the birth of her daughter Leanne, they relocated to Cape Cod, where Robin has worked as an acclaimed costume designer for theaters across the Cape and Islands for the last 25 years.

Lighting Design

Trevor is thrilled to be working with one of his favorite directors (and human beings), Mo Hanlon at Cape Rep! Regional credits include Lighting Designs with The Old Globe Theatre, San Jose Rep, San Diego Rep, Shakespeare Festival LA, Pasadena Playhouse, Portland Stage, La Jolla Playhouse, The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, A Noise Within, Lobero Theatre, Wheeler Opera House, Mark Taper New Works Festival, LA Theatre Works, and many more.  Awards include a Patte Award for All My Sons at the Old Globe and a Garland Award for The Illusion at San Diego Repertory Theatre.  Trevor has designed several world premiere productions with San Diego Repertory Theatre and Bottom’s Dream.  Trevor currently teaches design and stage management at the University of Redlands where he is the Director of Production.  Other work includes industrial designs, architectural lighting designs and building “green” houses for a hobby. Trevor owns his own company, Cleverco Designs, is a private pilot and has a wonderful family including wife Jennifer and kids Lillian and Reid.

Stage Manager

Tori Mondello (Stage Manager) is thrilled to continue her work with Cape Rep Theatre and this extraordinary company of creators after jetting off around the country (and Canada!) with Shrek the Musical: On Tour. Her recent Stage Manager experiences include Cape Rep’s Our Town, A Man of No Importance, Archibald Avery, Bold Company and Young Company, Prelude to a Kiss, and From the Heart of the Wreck. Tori is a graduate of NYU Abu Dhabi’s theater program where she primarily studied lighting design and is excited to be back home working as a stage manager.
