Summary

Led by Associate Artistic Director Maura Hanlon, the Young Company takes on Shakespeare’s thrilling romance, Winter’s Tale. Jealousy, desire, power, betrayal redemption, and Shakespeare’s most famous stage direction, “Exit, pursued by bear.” all come together to weave a sweeping tale of the triumph of love and forgiveness.

The Young Company features a talented group of 34 students with hometowns stretching from Plymouth to Wellfleet supported by Cape Rep Company artists. Now in its 7th year, YoCo provides free professional theater training to local young people grades 8 through 12 eager to learn the craft of acting through an intensive rehearsal and production process. All interested students are welcomed into this free annual program.

Thank to the following businesses and organizations for their generous support of Cape Rep’s education programs:

Cast

Lord
X

Quill Adamsons (Lord) is a sophomore at Monomoy Regional High School. Since his last show at YoCo (Claudius in Waiting for Ham) he has made the transition to sound but is excited to come back to the stage. He has been doing sound for various shows and concerts at Monomoy such as 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Brightest Thing, and is currently working on 9 to 5. He also did sound for Addams Family at the HJT.

Lord
X

Ashley Anderson (Lord) has had an affinity for the arts ever since she was a wee child. She has been involved in theatre ever since 5th grade, in its musical production of Lewis and Clark. She played the dog, and had a solo song singing about her fleas. Ashley attends Nauset High as a freshman. She has tried her best to involve herself in as much theatre as possible, and is enrolled in acting classes. She is an absolute people person and enjoys meeting the wonderful array of people that share her passion for acting. A big thanks to Ian for making her come to this lovely program! And to all the wonderful people she has met through Yoco, she’s so glad to have you all in her life!

Lady Two/Dion

Delia Castro (Lady Two/Dion) is a 15 year-old student at Sturgis East, and this is her second year performing with the Young Company. Delia loved playing Guildenstern in Waiting For Ham during YoCo last year, and she can’t wait to perform in Winter’s Tale

Camillo
X

Hugo Ceraldi (Camillio) has no idea what’s going on. He thought YoCo would be a subtle start to his career as an actor, but it’s been far from that. Jokes aside, so far the first year here has been a more than wonderful experience, even though he often winds up confused by the intensity of it all. He is looking forward to (hopefully) attending YoCo once more in the future. His interests elsewhere lie in other arts, such as sketching and other mediums. Thank you to Mo, Tori. Julie, Ian, and everyone for this riveting adventure.
