Cape Cod band “Someone’s Little Brother” returns to the Cape Rep stage for Raising the Roof Part 2, the second fundraiser the band is performing to help raise money to restore the historic Crosby Barn on Cape Rep’s campus. “Someone’s Little Brother” is a local rock and blues band featuring Paddo Devine on lead guitar and vocals, Matt Veary on bass, and Seamus Devine on drums. Cape Rep Associate Artist Trish LaRose will join the band for a few numbers as well. The band will cover a mix of artists from Jimmy Hendrix to Led Zeppelin to Metallica to Guns ’N Roses as well as some of their own original music. Last year, “Someone’s Little Brother” played to a sell out crowd in support of the first phase of Cape Rep’s Barn project, which involved raising the Barn and putting in a full basement. That phase is now complete and this concert kicks off the second phase effort to raise funds to restore the interior of the Barn into a beautiful space for rehearsal, performance, education and community.
The historic Crosby Barn sits opposite Cape Rep’s Indoor Theater. Built in the late 19th century by Isaac F. and Sarah Crosby, it was moved to its current site by Camp Monomoy in the 1920s and used by the camp for arts and crafts, as a commissary and for performances. It has served as the home for Cape Rep’s theatrical assets: scenery, platforms, and props, and is the last building on the 7-acre campus to be restored.
