Summary

Entrenched in folklore and woven in history, this sea-faring adventure explores the relationship between the notorious pirate Sam Bellamy and his mysterious mistress, The Witch of Wellfleet, through humor, storytelling and song. From the wreck of the Whydah Galley comes a story of timeless romance, swashbuckling escapades, and supernatural revenge.

Coleman Churchill graduated with a BFA in Acting from the University of Connecticut in 2018, where he performed with the Connecticut Repertory Theatre. He made his off-broadway debut as Pip in Pip’s Island: The Lighthouse Adventure before leaving New York to pursue his dream of growing a mustache and staying indoors. He now lives in North Carolina where he writes and illustrates kids books. This is his first production with Cape Rep, and it won’t be his last, damnit!

BT Hayes is delighted to take part in her first Cape Rep production and extremely grateful to be among this group of amazing collaborators! Previous credits include The Hello Girls, Mary Stuart, The Odyssey, and Eurydice (Princeton University). Many thanks to her friends at Provincetown Theater, especially Derek!

Ari has been seen in Cape Rep’s entire summer season. Appearing in Tumacho, Mamma Mia and Click Click Moo: Cows that Type. He appeared last season in Noises Off, Much Ado About Nothing, and Fantastical House of Maya Mouse. He has performed in many other local theaters such as WHAT, Harbor Stage Company, CCTC-HJT, Eventide, Tilden Arts Center, Priscilla Beach Theatre, and CCftA where he recently appeared as Buddy in Elf the Musical and had 3 successful runs of the one man show Fully Committed. Ari has also performed at the Metropolitan Opera, in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and was the Big Man himself at Macy’s Santaland on 34th Street. Ari’s voice can be heard at the Field Museum in Chicago in the Abbott Hall of Conservation: Restoring Earth exhibit. He resides in Yarmouth with his very weird but very cute wife Holly Hansen.

Nick Nudler was born and raised in Westford, MA. Some of his favorite shows he’s been a part of have been: Indecent, Noises Off!, Shakespeare in Love, and Rough Crossing at Cape Rep Theatre; The Taming of the Shrew and Macbeth at Shakespeare & Company; Jesus Christ Superstar, As You Like It, and The Importance of Being Earnest at CT Repertory Theatre; and the devised piece, Ziggy Bacchus and the Maenads from Mars. He performed his one-man show The Old Names at Manhattan Repertory Theatre’s New Works Festival. He received a BFA in Acting from UConn, where he studied at the Theatre Academy of London for a semester. His hair comes courtesy of his brilliant mother Julie and Apollo, God of the Sun. Kirsten Peacock grew up in The Kingdom of Norway and is of British/American parentage. She studied at the University of Kent, England and the University of California Berkeley, receiving her BA in Theatre a Masters in Directing. She has performed, taught, directed and choreographed in the U.K., Norway, California, New York and the greater New England area. She has been a company member of Shakespeare & Company for the past four years, working as an education artist and performing in roles such as Lady Macbeth, Kate, Ophelia and Desdemona. She is passionate about collaborative creation and finding joy and delight in the room. She wants to thank her partner in life and art, Nick Nudler, for sharing his massive talent, beautiful mind and glorious cuddles. She also thanks Cape Rep for this incredible opportunity!

Susan Nicholson (Lighting Design) Susan is northeast based Lighting Designer. Starting in 2005 she has been a part of over 35 productions as well as VetCo, Young Company, Footlight Fantasy and many benefits and special performances at Cape Rep. Favorite show credits include-Full Monty (the first time), Xanadu, UMPO, Merrily We Roll Along, Rough Crossing, Billy Elliot, and Boundless. She is an events lighting designer in NYC doing projects such as Hospitality at the US Open, John Wick 3 premier party, and various other Corporate Events and Parties. Ryan McGettigan(Scenic Design) Ryan is a Houston-based scenic designer of theater, opera, and dance working across the country and Europe. He is the Resident Designer at Cape Rep Theatre in Brewster, MA as well as a Company Artist with Prague Shakespeare Company and the Classical Theatre Company of Houston. Regional Credits: Theatre under the Stars, Stages Repertory Theatre, Orlando Shakespeare Theater, Shakespeare & Company, Cape Rep, Abilene Shakespeare Festival, Legacy Theatre, Prague Shakespeare Company. Opera and Dance: Glimmerglass Festival, New Orleans Opera, Opera San Jose, HGOco, Open Dance Project, and the Houston Ballet.

Tori Mondello (Stage Manager) is excited to return to Cape Rep this summer as stage manager of this awesome show. While this is her first stage managing experience, Tori began working at Cape Rep last season, gaining experience with sound and lighting for Noises Off and Mamma Mia. She graduated this May with a BA in theater practice from NYU Abu Dhabi, where she heavily explored lighting design and tech work with artists from around the world.
